Ultrasound (sonography) is used to evaluate the abdominal organs such as the liver, kidneys, pancreas, gallbladder and spleen.

Common reasons for this examination include abdominal pain, nausea, blood in the urine and blookwork abnormalities.

Ultrasound gel is applied to the patient’s skin.  Multiple images are taken of all of the appropriate organs.

The patient should not have anything to eat after midnight.

The sonographer will do her best to provide you with a comfortable experience.
